Today is Tuesday, March 3rd: the dreaded ACT day. Dreaded, of course, for Juniors terrified of what number the day has in store that will determine some part of their future… and, what do you know! Dreaded by the teachers who have to proctor the dang thing.
I, somehow, got dealt a favorable hand and spent the day holed up in the English Department office, drinking coffee, eating donuts, and getting into it with my colleagues about the use of semi-colons and universal basic income. On the ride home, driving a fellow colleague, I got a sci-fi book recommendation that will “totally reframe the way you conceptualize characters’ gender”.
Perhaps this was the universe’s sign to take a step back from the frustration of the year, and enjoy the little things.
Miss you at TJ! Glad to see you slicing. Coffee, grammar, and book recs sounds like a pretty solid day!
